Le très célèbre premier président de la cour d’appel de Dakar, le juge Demba Kandji, lui aussi, cède son poste. En effet, le magistrat est détaché auprès de la présidence de la République. Il est remplacé par son homologue, Ciré Aly Ba, précédemment procureur général près la Cour d’appel de Saint-Louis.
Parmi les dossiers traités par le juge Kandji, il y a celui de la caisse d’avance de la Ville de Dakar. Le magistrat avait, malgré la forte pression politique que charriait ce dossier, confirmé la condamnation de l’ex-maire de Dakar, Khalifa Sall.
