Le chef de l’État a reçu, ce vendredi, au palais de la République, des professionnels de la presse sénégalais dans le cadre des consultations citoyennes et politiques qu’il a engagées en vue de lutter contre le nouveau coronavirus (Covid-19).
Des responsables de centrales syndicales, notamment le secrétaire général du SYNPICS, Ahmadou Bamba Kassé, des membres de l’Union des radios associatives et communautaires (URAC) et le leader du Conseil des éditeurs et diffuseurs de la presse (CDEPS), se sont entretenus avec le président Macky Sall.
Il y avait aussi, sur place, des membres de l’Association des éditeurs et professionnels de la presse en ligne (APPEL) et la Convention des jeunes reporters du Sénégal (Cjrs). À cette occasion, le président de la République, nous apprend-on, s’est félicité du rôle de la presse dans la lutte contre le Covid-19. Le président Sall a « salué l’implication des médias dans la sensibilisation, en changeant leur programme », a-t-on appris auprès d’un responsable des médias.
Il est clair que les journalistes sont, aux yeux de Macky Sall, reconnus comme des soldats pendant la guerre contre la pandémie. Il a ainsi indiqué que « le secteur de la presse sera pris en compte dans l’utilisation des ressources du Fonds de riposte mis en place pour soutenir les entreprises », renseigne la même source.
