Si certains politiciens misent sur des artistes plus ou moins accessibles, d’autres décident de sortir l’artillerie lourde. En effet, le politicien Abdoulaye Dièye de la Coalition Benno Bolk Yakaar a décidé d’offrir un grand concert à la jeunesse Thièssoise avec l’artiste Wally Seck.
Celui-ci a un calendrier bien rempli pour cette dernière ligne droite de la campagne. Après son concert du 18 janvier,il ira à Saint-Louis pour le meeting de clôture de la coalition Benno Bokk Yakaar. Il terminera sa série de concerts à Dakar au Cices sur la demande d’Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr, le 20 janvier.
Il va en assurer d’autres, pour l’opposition, notamment pour la coalition «Geum sa bopp». Le jeune Faramarène a décroché pas moins d’une vingtaine de spectacles pour cette campagne à Dakar, ainsi qu’à l’intérieur du pays, d’après les révélations du manager du Raam Daan, Mamadou Koné.
A Saint-Louis également, le chanteur Mbaye Ndiaye Tilala a ravi la vedette aux autres artistes. Dans presque toutes les manifestations, c’est lui qui assure le show. À côté de ses artistes-musiciens, les percussionnistes ou «bongomans» tirent eux aussi profit de cette campagne.
Aly appartient à un groupe de «bongomanes». D’après lui, cette période est propice pour se faire de l’argent.«Comme les cérémonies traditionnelles, les meetings politiques nous permettent de gagner de l’argent.
Si nous sommes invités à une cérémonie, nous pouvons discuter d’un cachet qui peut atteindre 50 mille FCfa pour une prestation. Si on part à l’improviste, les revenus peuvent varier car ils sont assujettis aux candidats ou à leurs accompagnants», informe-t-il sur les colonnes de l’Observateur.
