Le président de la République, Macky Sall a pris la décision de rouvrir les moquées et autres lieux de culte, dans le cadre de l’assouplissement des mesures de l’état d’urgence. Interpellée sur cette décision du chef de l’Etat, le ministre de l’Intérieur Aly Ngouille Ndiaye, a fait savoir que la réouverture des mosquées pourra être effective d’ici vendredi prochain.

À l’en croire, ses services ont depuis quelques jours entamés des discussions avec les imams et les chefs religieux pour que les mesures barrières soient respectées dans les mosquées. « Le président de la République m’a donné des instructions pour mettre en œuvre cette décision. Nous allons donner des directives aux gouverneurs, aux préfets et sous-préfets de discuter avec les imams et autres chefs religieux des différentes localités pour voir comment rendre effective cette mesure tout en respectant les mesures », a-t-il déclaré.
Toutefois, Aly Ngouille Ndiaye prévient que des mesures seront prises pour éviter que les lieux de culte ne soient pris d’assaut. « Nous n’allons pas accepter que les mosquées soient assaillies par les fidèles. Il faut un nombre limité dans les mosquées. Dans le rite de l’Imam Malick, un nombre minimal de 12 musulmans en dehors de l’imam est une des conditions pour que la prière du Vendredi puisse être effectuée. Je pense qu’on ne va pas dépasser ce nombre parce qu’il faut que les mesures barrières soient respectées. »
